After joining this experience I can’t imagine ever visiting Versailles in any other way. Our guide was amazing, so passionate and knowledgeable about French history, with enthralling stories, and she was so friendly and caring and took care of everything. The lines were SO long but we skipped them. And biking allowed us to go to places you just can’t go on foot because there aren’t enough hours in the day. We went to areas of Versailles that only 2% of visitors go to and they were so beautiful and special feeling. I loved the picnic on the grand canal especially. When I come back with friends and family I will definitely book this again!! As well as the bike tour through Paris which I also did with Stu and Niki 🙂

Amalie was an amazing guide. She handled our group of 3 kids, 2 seniors, and 2 adults well. She was respectful of our seniors (69 and 70) and another senior in our group and would wait. Her history and storytelling knowledge was great. She has a great sense of humor. The market was also a highlight. There was more bike riding than our grandparents anticipated but they still had a ball and we’re laughing a lot after. This was my third trip to Versailles and certainly the best thanks to Amalie.

What can I say but holy wow! Not only did Niki and Stu deliver one of the most memorable experiences of our latest trip to Paris, but even having visited Versailles before, I learned and saw so much more than I could have imagined. From skipping the ridiculously long line, to leaning the sorted history of the three Louis', riding a bike around the entire perimeter of the palace to eating some of the best French snacks I've encountered, this couple has their craft down pat. I would highly encourage anyone who can hop on a bike and who has a passion for some pretty opulent but funny history, sign up for this tour right now.

We had a delightful & educational experience. Our guide, Claire, was wonderful; she related the history and events of Versailles and the area with great story telling skill and enthusiasm. We were able to enter Versailles and tour without a long wait which gave us plenty of time to ride to town and explore the wonderful market. Having a picnic on the grounds, looking back up at the palace was amazing. We would highly recommend this tour.

The tour of was great. Our guide was very attentive to the needs of the guests and knowledgable about Versailles and its history. The timing of the whole thing was also amazing- We avoided the crowds, saw the beautiful fountains at work and visited the amazing food market at the town of Versailles. I am convinced that visiting Versailles on our own would have been a total waste of time. We really had a great time.
If you are considering booking the experience- Just do it! But one word of advice- Depending on where you are staying in Paris, allow yourself plenty of time to get to the meeting spot. We checked the night prior and the time estimate was 35min from Bastille; however, one of the metro lines was closed that Sunday morning and the trip took ~ 1:15min. We almost missed the tour.

Great way to experience Versailles! Biking gives you the opportunity to not only see the palace but the grounds and the town as well. There is no way we would have been able to cover it all by foot. Our guide, Irina, was incredibly knowledgeable and a wonderful storyteller.

Wonderful tour by an experienced guide. We really got to explore so much of Versailles, not just the palace but also the city, the market there is local, authentic and fantastic, had a picnic along the grand canal, and visited the queen’s hamlet where tourists rarely go. The biking was fun but beware that there is biking on the streets with cars in case that is off putting (I was under the impression we would be biking in the gardens or something like that). It was a long day so make sure to be well rested the night before, but so worth it, highly recommend for first time visitors. Also, the train ticket back to Paris is also good for a metro ride so plan accordingly!

Stu and Nikki were wonderful hosts with our tour guide Maeva, who made the experience incredibly personal. The trip was so well organized, and we couldn't believe how quickly time flew by because we were truly having so much fun. Maeva is the first tour guide I've ever had to make the history of the Versailles area stick and feel relevant. She was so skilled during our tour, and made a specific effort to make sure we all felt comfortable and got lots of photos. We got to see so much of the grounds and the town that we would not have without their guidance.

You'll Love
Floating past the long lines, with your own guide to chaperone you skillfully through the Château, sharing stories at every turn.
Feeling like a local as you explore the town of Versailles, and it’s award-winning market!
Riding away from the crowds to explore the very best of Versailles.
It is almost as if Versailles was designed with our bike tour in mind. The majority of our ride takes place within the Royal Gardens, where we can enjoy stress-free cycling, far from the traffic and crowds. Outside of the gardens, cycle paths weave their way throughout the town and are set on the footpaths, away from traffic.
We frequently have children join our tours, and have a fleet of children’s bikes, tandems, child-seats and helmets for them – we love sharing the day with families and take great pride in entertaining and ensuring the safety of all ages throughout the day.
*Whenever possible we try to group families together which can great when the children are of similar ages.
Of course. All our tours of Versailles include a guided tour of the Palace with a fully licensed member of our team. We do not abandon you with an audio guide. We use earpieces so you can hear your guide, can ask questions & don’t miss a thing! If there is one Palace in the world to visit, this is the one!
All of our tours operate rain or shine and we provide free rain jackets. As we are licensed to guide inside the Château we do adapt & spend more time inside the Palace. We bring rain jackets, good humor & a sense of adventure!
Yes, we include the inner gardens and fountain show as part of our tours. However, please note the fountains only turn on at set times, on set dates – every Saturday & Sunday in the summer.
We still visit the inner gardens on days the fountains do not run as Versailles “was a garden before a castle, a feast before a garden, a night before a thousand suns. If you want to understand Versailles, one must first walk through its gardens”.
No. All tickets, travel (including train tickets to and from Versailles), access to Versailles, the gardens, the Hamlet and the fountains are all included.
This is our most comprehensive tour of Versailles. It is a full day but not structured like a normal tour with plenty of time to relax, drink wine, ride a bike and explore. On this tour we visit:
The town of Versailles
The award-winning farmers market
The Inner Gardens & Fountains (on set days)
Marie Antoinette’s Hamlet
Picnic by the Grand Canal
Guided Tour of the Château
Picnic lunch at guest’s cost, while exploring the local farmer’s market
Bike & Brunch: The Best of Versailles
This tour is designed for those travellers who wish to see as much of Versailles as possible in just half a day. On this tour we visit:
